Oral Appliances: Smaller, Less Noisy, and More Convenient Than CPAP
CPAP therapy can be uncomfortable and hard to use consistently. The great news is that there are many alternatives to traditional CPAP therapy for patients with mild to moderate sleep apnea.
We use oral appliances, also known as snore guards, as a convenient and comfortable alternative. They can be just as effective as traditional CPAP therapy and are extremely portable.
Snore guard and apnea mouthpieces are:
- Easy to use
- Small enough to fit in a bag or purse
- Custom designed to fit you
- Cost-effective
- Silent
- Don’t need electricity

Meet Dr. Ronald Plotka
I’ve been a dentist for over four decades. Helping people is my passion. I understand the toll sleep apnea can have in your life and believe everyone deserves to wake up feeling refreshed.
I have a personal connection to sleep apnea having lost a colleague to this common sleep disorder. Sleep apnea deserves to be taken seriously, and that’s why I’ve made it my mission to find solutions that are easy to use and work well with our patients’ lifestyles.
I have extensive training in treating sleep apnea with over 100 hours of continuing education dedicated to sleep apnea alone. CPAP is a great option for some patients, but I have found that most people end up taking their mask off in the middle of the night. I use oral appliances as an effective alternative to CPAP.
We have hundreds of different oral appliances and are confident we can find the one that meets your unique needs. If you suffer from sleep apnea or snoring, please don’t hesitate to give my office a call. Getting treatment could really save your life.
